BIG NEWS! Name & Brand Change: Read the Scoop Here!

Share

Hello world!

We have big news to share and we're going to go slowly because we've known about the news for a long time, and all of will be learning about it right now.

Last summer, we received a certified letter, hand delivered by the postman, that challenged our business name. What ensued was a long process of putting our dukes up, reflection, acceptance, putting our dukes up again, reflection again, true acceptance, creative freedom, and an emergence.

The end result?  We are changing our name and completely rebranding - effective now!

Before we tell you the new name, we'll tell you our process of how we got there. We asked ourselves:

"Who do we love?"
YOU! We love creators. We love people who turn ideas into action.

"Who do we serve"
YOU! We serve small small business owners, their team members and staff, and we even inspire those who haven't done it yet, but are planning to in the future.

"How do we do that?"
Here's where we really took a hard look at what we do everyday. Of course we know what we do - we provide you as a member with tools to manage your PR, spread your online presence, get total SEO dominance, connect with other like minded people to get answers you need, and we inspire and motivate you to keep going (blush).

But what does that all mean? We help you share your brand story. We help you get your business out there. We help you get in front of your clients, customers, and new clients and customers to get more sales. We educate, motivate, and help you get the word out about your business.

Alright already, tell me about the new name!!
Ok!  When you went into business, you "hung your shingle". It's an old term that's been around for centuries and was used when someone was going into business for themselves.  Whether it's brick and mortar or virtual, you created a logo and put it out there - your shingle!

You're also resilient. You withstand challenges. You think of how to get a YES when at first you get a no. You don't stop because you love what you do. Ya know what else is resilient? Tin. Yeah, the metal. It resists corrosion and is used as a protective covering to withstand harsh elements.

The New Name Is:
Tin Shingle, LLC

Here is a snippet of our new logo (which you've already seen because you are here at the website):

Curious about why the name? Why the wooden logo? How we feel? We talked about it (via a series of videos) on Tin Shingle YouTube channel - check it out!

When does this happen?
As you can see from the website, the visual change is already underway.   There are also lots of content changes that need to happen to remove the word "preneur" and "preneuring" from the website. We're doing a grand sweep of the content, and then are manually going in to smooth out changes. If you read something clunky, it's because we are still conducting editorial changes.

But that's not all!
There is a big second phase of changes planned, during which we will be making the site easier to navigate and more "on-brand". We are also upgrading sections you love and bringing new goodies to the site that you will love including: Pitch Me and Style Me, where you get to ask producers, editors and stylists exactly how to pitch them, what they love and what they hate (and will have access to reach out to them directly).

From this point on...
What you will see from us in terms of newsletters, Facebook, Twitter, etc., will be Tin Shingle, LLC. We are shinglizing everything ;) and it's effective now.

Katie & Sabina,

Congrats on the new name. I love it! I agree, metal is an excellent allegory of strength and resilience -- necessary for all indie business owners!

Cheers to your ongoing success!
