Candi Obrentz

Hi – I am Candi Obrentz, the President and Founder of CEO Enterprises, LLC and the creator of RestoPresto®—the compact pouch that converts to a water-repellent, soft, thin blanket that you can sit on, sit under and wear.

Becoming an inventor was the result of 100% demand and 0% supply. An impromptu visit to New York’s Central Park -- plus a desire to lounge in the grass but minus something to sit on -- prompted an extensive search in stores and online for an on-the-go blanket/mat for planned and unplanned adventures. Surprisingly this product did not exist. So, I took matters into my own hands and created a multi-functional soft thin blanket myself. RestoPresto® was launched publicly in the Fall of 2014 via a Kickstarter campaign that was successfully overfunded allowing me to manufacture in the USA.

I was raised in St. Petersburg, Florida and received a BA degree in English with a minor in Communications from Florida State University. Studying and living abroad in Italy and France led to a lifelong zest for traveling overseas. I have resided in New York for over 21 years, thriving on the city’s vibrancy, which continues to nourish my creative spirit. Early on, I worked in the advertising and staffing industries, focusing on new business development and sales. The cold calling sales experience reinforced the principle that it is essential for me to believe in everything that I sell. I took on a completely different challenge by joining a global financial institution in 1997, where I successfully managed multi-billion dollar credit lending portfolios and cultivated client and stakeholder relationships during my 16-year banking career. Channeling my customer-focused energy from finance to invention has been a natural progression into entrepreneurship.

When I am not eating, sleeping and breathing RestoPresto®, I run The Candi Dish blog, am a member of my university and sorority alumni associations, support various non-profit organizations, write for the Turtle Bay Association newsletter and relish life on the Isle of Manhattan.
