Born in Montreal, Jennifer’s early childhood summers were spent in a magical place called Sally’s Pond. Her Grandparents had the cottage up the hill and Jennifer would go out in the boat and row until Grandmother had her drop anchor. Then hours were spent watching her mix her paints and recreate the view before them on the canvas. She often wondered why her Grandmother didn’t give her lessons. Then she picked up a makeup brush and started mixing. She had been given ten years of floating color theory.

With the encouragement of her mentor, Canadian metaphysician-poet, Dr. Kenneth G. Mills, she trained as a makeup artist. Her first project in 1994, prior to her formal training at The Berger Institute of Production Technology, was an interview by Rolland Smith of Dr. Kenneth Mills shot on a High Def camera being tested by Sony. She often wondered why her style was so different from artists around her until she completed a HD character makeup for “The Man in Room 306” actor, Craig Alan Edwards with director, Martha Pinson. It was the culmination of years of practice realizing the importance of attention to detail in technique and simplicity in design, to capture character essence under the high scrutiny of HD. In a recent review of “The Man in Room 306” by Craig Edwards, at Luna Stage, Montclair, NJ. it was described as “uncanny” in likeness as was Edwards performance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Martha’s comment was that she couldn’t see a spec of makeup, yet his entire face was transformed.

The culmination of these life experiences led to incredible self-discovery and wanting to share that with others through makeup. What makes her approach unique is her philosophy...”Beauty is an outward expression of your inner intention.”

Besides corporate and commercial shoots, reality shows, ESPN sportscasters, Jennifer teaches CEO’s makeup technique with the media training company, Layton Communications. She has given workshops for Girls at Risk through Women in Management, workshops for The Girls Scouts and “Beauty is Ageless” with makeover from 35 to 97 year olds.

Jennifer has had the honor of working with many wonderful directors such as Dorothy Lyman, Nicole Quinn, Barbara Willis-Sweete and with many talented actors including: Amy Poehler, Will Arnett, Tyne Daly, Melissa Leo, David Straithorn, Giancarlo Esposito, Peter McRobbie, Frank and Malachi Mc Court. And most recently, Academy Award winning actress Ellen Burstyn, for a documentary on Eleonora Duse by L’Orage Productions.
