“Hey Sarah- I know its very short notice, but Jene will be in Wendy Williams this coming Monday.  Would Hipknoties would be interested?”

My reply at 9:46am:

“YES!!!!!!”

As a small business owner with an awesome product, even if I say so myself, I take any opportunity that presents itself to expose Hipknoties in any way to any body .  I will do what ever I need to do to get it done.  I have no shame.

That being said, it should come as no surprise, when I received another email on June 26th from Jene herself, asking if I would be willing to give 200 (free) Hipknoties out to the studio audience, that I immediately (without hesitation) said, “of course”!

Now some people may pause, collect their thoughts, then respond. But no, I didn’t stop for a second to think if I had 200 Hipknoties on hand and ready to ship out... Nor did I stop to think about the cost of overnighting 200 Hipknoties to NYC to arrive in time.  Nope, didn’t think of any of that, at all.  All I thought was I NEED to do this no matter what, and I will get it done.

So what does an entrepreneur do when she has to pick, pack, label, put the 5 little bands into 200 baggies and attach them to each product, fold and box these 200 Hipknoties in less than 24 hours?  She looks to her beloved husband, best friend and 10 and 12 year old daughters for help!  

And so, there we were, getting done what needed to be done for a fabulous opportunity for Hipknoties to be on the Wendy Williams Show.   

Regardless of the fact we were leaving the next week for the month of July and all the other things that needed to be done, I wasn’t stopping.  And yes, one of the top items on my “to do list” was getting my hair brazilian straightened, a necessary evil for us curly haired girls traveling back east in July.  Thank goodness for my amazing guy who came to my house to get the job done, while I continued to do my job of bagging clear bands into mini baggies for Wendy Williams!

With only minutes to spare, there I was driving like a Formula 1 race car driver up Scottsdale Road.  No joke. I knew I had to make it to the UPS store by 5:20 pm on Thursday June 27th, or this was not going to be there on time.  No other cars, no animals, no kids were going to get in my way... With 180 pounds of Hipknoties packed and ready, I made it.  And they made it to NY on time and ready for the segment.  

The segment was fantastic!  The response to Hipknoties has been overwhelming.  I honestly can say that as much as I hate to stress and hate to feel rushed, it was worth the 24 hours of panic and chaos.  I will gladly do it again when another opportunity presents itself.  

Some people say, good things come to those who wait.

I say, good things come to those who work their asses off.
