Digital Nomads: A Work Freedom Revolution

Share

Proud to be featured in this article and work in a time when technology is liberating people to live their lives as they want rather than as work dictates.

If you're a Digital Nomad, you live your life as an adventure, taking work with you as you go rather than letting work dictate your lifestyle. You've ditched your desk and broken free of the office, or whatever work confines were holding you back from enjoying life.

Who are some examples of Digital Nomads?

Businesspeople are increasingly enjoying location-independent lives. Benny Lewis has traveled for more than 10 years. Everything he owns fits in a backpack and comes with him. He runs a virtual language-learning business as he goes. Jay Shapiro also runs a virtual business, often from an “eco-roamer” camper van he had built using all sustainable materials.

Many freelancers are also Digital Nomads, enjoying the ability to pick up and go while working. Graphic designer Kimberly Schwede, though based in San Francisco, has worked for months at a time from Spain, Mexico, and Africa over the past year. She often combines work with volunteer projects to benefit the local communities she visits, such asspending time at a nursery school in Tanzania, where she did art projects with the children.

In the course of my adventures, I’ve come across Digital Nomads constantly who are working from coworking spaces, cafes, hotels, and really any place imaginable, even RVs!
