Veterinary Emergency and Referral Group (a/k/a VERG) was formed in the spring of 2005 by Dr. Brett Levitzke. VERG-North is a multi-disciplinary, referral only hospital located in the Cobble Hill section of Brooklyn. Looking to duplicate the model of VERG-North on the south end of Brooklyn, Dr. Levitzke opened Veterinary Emergency and Referral Group-South in the spring of 2010. Located in the Marine Park section, VERG-South is also a multi-disciplinary, emergency and referral hospital.
Open 24 hours, 7 days a week, our emergency/critical care units consist of teams of experienced and dedicated emergency doctors, technicians, and assistants, working together to provide the highest quality, state-of-the-art care.  Our emergency team works closely with your veterinarian in caring for your pet.
Veterinary Emergency and Referral Group’s specialty arm consists of dedicated, compassionate, highly qualified specialists in the fields of surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, neurology, oncology, dermatology, and ophthalmology.
