Tavern Puzzles are reproductions of a type of puzzle traditionally forged by blacksmiths to amuse their friends at country taverns and inns. Our collection incorporates traditional designs, as well as original works. All puzzles are hand-crafted and individually assembled.  Each puzzle is mechanical in nature: the object is to remove one piece. Neither force nor tricks are needed; old-fashioned problem solving will do it.
Our company was established in 1975. It is a family business, owned and operated by Dennis and Donna Sucilsky.  We have been making the Tavern Puzzle Collection since the early 1980s, and continue to do so thanks to the support of our terrific puzzle fans.
Dennis is a museum–trained blacksmith who has used his knowledge of iron-working and tool-making to craftchallenging, traditional entertainment, in a durable and attractive form.  No batteries needed, and the puzzles will never wear out!
